Madden NFL 22 Face of the Franchise Trailer Drops With First Look at Game Mode

Following in the footsteps of other recent Madden NFL 22 trailers, a new video has dropped to show off the upcoming Face of the Franchise mode. The popular mode in EA’s game allows gamers to create their own young player, then guide them through a career story. This year’s story is called United We Rise featuring a new cast of characters telling the tale of another player’s path to the NFL.

Madden NFL 22 Face of the Franchise trailer gives glimpse at story mode

A brand new trailer dropped on Wednesday, July 7 to show off the first look at Madden NFL 22 Face of the Franchise. Ryan Santos, Senior Design Director for Madden NFL 22 narrates the two-minute All Access Trailer. He mentions this will be “a whole new direction for the mode” based on user feedback and gives an overview of what’s new.

There will be a host of new features, updates, or upgrades in the mode. Some of those include Road to the Draft and a new Player Class Progression System, both of which are detailed in the video.

The trailer shows off shows from some of the stories, including pre-draft activities, in-game footage, interviews, text conversations, The Yard, and customization screens. However, the trailer is brief in terms of what it packs in, most likely to keep from spoiling too much of the story.

What’s new in the upcoming game mode?

The Road to the Draft Prologue is the start of the Madden NFL 22 Face of the Franchise mode. In that part of the story, gamers are guiding their avatar through a path to the draft that includes working out at Nike headquarters and with an NFL team. There’s also a diverse cast of characters you’ll meet along the way, and your interactions can shape your rising or falling draft stock.

Another thing detailed in the trailer is the new Class Progression System. With this, gamers customize their avatar based on the style of gameplay. Their custom player will level up through gameplay. Quarterback classes include General (like cover star Tom Brady), Magician (co-cover star Patrick Mahomes), and Lightspeed.

There will also be a class of Linebackers at launch, giving the mode a defensive position option for the first time. Additionally, there will be a “unified progression across The Yard” mode to level up your player even more while playing Madden NFL 22.
