New Quality of Life Updates in Apex Legends: Emergence

With the launch of Apex Legends: Emergence, Respawn has released Seer, the new Legend, along with a new LMG and major changes for the World’s Edge map. However, the new season update also includes several subtler changes. More specifically, various quality of life updates which should improve the overall experience of playing Apex Legends.

Apex Legends: Emergence – Quality of Life Updates

The “Quality of Life” updates which are included in the Apex Legends: Emergence update span both mechanic changes and new in-game content. For example, the update adds a new player badge for Win Streak, which players can now earn. There are four variants of the Win Streak badge; for scoring 2, 3, 4, or 5 Battle Royale match wins in a row. Needless to say, this will be one of the harder badges to earn.

In matches, Respawn has added a new “Hold On” response which players can use in response to enemy pings. Players should also now be able to hear a “distinct sound effect” for a Gold Backpack’s revive when they are close by. Outside of matches, the in-game store now displays Heirloom items in a different view. This should give players a better look at the Heirloom and its related items. In the game menu, players can now use an updated Open Pack Button to see the packs they have available to open. The button will now display each of the pack types available and the number of each pack when highlighted.

In private matches, the quality of life update has added a whole range of minor tweaks and changes. An Admin Toggle option is now available for Aim Assist Mode, for example. Meanwhile, a Red Zone Filter is now available for Observers in Freecam. More Arenas maps and custom ending variants have been added to the map/mode selection, while various script errors have been fixed.
