With the upcoming launch of Season 5 later this week, Call of Duty: Warzone is set to get two brand-new Perks, both reportedly designed to; “shake up the meta”. These two Perks will be launching alongside a new Gulag layout, new points of interest in Verdansk, and a new mode later in the season.
Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 – New Perks
The addition of two new Perks for Call of Duty: Warzone may not seem overly significant, but this will actually be the first time ever that the game has gotten any new Perks. Warzone’s Perks were originally designed in conjunction with those in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. No new ones have ever been added to the list of available options since the game’s release. However, that is now about to change.
The first of the two new Perks coming in Season 5 is Combat Scout. This Perk will make targeting enemies a little easier; when the user damages an enemy, an orange outline will temporarily highlight that enemy. Plus, the enemy will automatically be pinged. Combat Scout should aid with targeting over long distances, as well as calling out targets for your squadmates. Indeed, making communication easier with automatic pings and targeting outlines could make Combat Scout a player-favourite very quickly.
The second new Perk included in Season 5 is a defensive-style Perk called Tempered. When a player uses this Perk, their armour will become both stronger and bulkier. The user will only need to pick up two Armour Plates in order to have full protection, rather than three. This means that each of their Armour Plates will absorb 75 damage rather than 50. Note that users won’t be able to pick up a third Plate – the Perk doesn’t allow users to go above the normal maximum protection. There is also an extra cost to this protective benefit; the Tempered Perk takes away your Perk 2 slot as well.
