Just a week ago, the NBA 2K22 video game officially launched for multiple consoles bringing fans of the basketball sim franchise more virtual hoops to enjoy. While there’s still a long time until talk of the next installment in the series drops, there are already betting options available for NBA 2K23. A recent listing of betting odds for what certain NBA 2K23 player ratings will be has arrived, giving bettors a shot to make their best predictions.
NBA 2K23 player ratings predictions as betting option
As sports video game fans know, the player ratings in the game are usually a big deal as fans and the players themselves get into heated debates over the numbers. That typically includes EA’s Madden football game, which had an entire week of specials on ESPN weeks ago.
The NBA 2K game is also one that gets some debate online with NBA stars suggesting their ratings are too high or too low, while some are completely unfazed by any of that talk. However, it’s grown to the point that there’s now the option to bet on it.
Just recently, it was revealed that NBA 2K23 player ratings are available in a futures market for bettors. Reportedly, the site BETUS lists over/unders for the potential ratings of many of the game’s top stars under an “NBA specials” category.
Among those stars are LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, Zion Williamson, and 2K22 cover star Luka Doncic.
With over/under bets, bettors try to predict whether something will go over or under the number listed. So for example, the betting site lists LeBron James at 96-1/2 for his overall rating.
A bettor could wager that his NBA 2K23 player rating will be over that number at -110, or under the number at -120. Basically, they would need to bet $110 on -110 to win $100 for the over. Alternately, they could put $120 on the under to win $100.
Joining Lebron with 96-1/2 for the betting options are Steph Curry, Kawhi Leonard, Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Luka Doncic. Meanwhile, the site has Kevin Durant and Giannis at 97-1/2 for their over/under bets.
LeBron among four players leading 2K22’s ratings
When the NBA 2K22 player ratings were revealed, the Lakers’ LeBron James was atop the list with his 96 overall rating for the game. However, three other players, Durant, Giannis, and Curry, also had 96 overall ratings for the new game.
2K unveiled a top 10 list (below) ahead of the game’s official release date to let know fans know about the ratings. Other stars in the top 10 include the reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic, Philadelphia Sixers All-Star Joel Embiid, and two-time NBA champion Kawhi Leonard.
In 2K’s game and other sports games, ratings adjustments arrive during the season based on whether players are performing good, or poorly. So conceivably, some of the players on the top 10 ratings list below could end up higher or lower by the end of the 2021 NBA season.
The NBA 2K23 player ratings are still far off, as the game won’t be released until 2022. However, bettors who may have a strong premonition of where certain players will finish the upcoming season may want to check out the BetUS listing here.
The NBA 2K22 game is currently available for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PCs.
