With the release today of Riot Games’ new State of the Agents blog, the studio has given fans some up-to-date insights into the development and current plans for Valorant’s Agents. Foremost in this update, coming at the very end, was confirmation that the game’s next new Agent will be a Sentinel. The teaser also offers an idea of this new character’s play-style and focus.
Riot Games’ Plans for the Next Valorant Agent
“It’s been a bit since our Robo Boyo KAY/0 has been out neutralizing Radiants,” writes Riot; “While he’s been out there adding to our pool of flashes, we’ve been refining our upcoming Agent. We took a step back and thought about different ways to provide another Sentinel to the roster.”

According to Riot, this upcoming Sentinel will focus on “mechanical outplays”. However, they will also reportedly include; “an additional focus of gunplay into the mix for an extra flourish”. Beyond this tease, the studio is keeping all further details about the new Agent under wraps. Most likely, this character is planned for release with the game’s next Episode, and is still in active development. As such, fans will need to wait a while longer before they get to hear any more about them.
The tease for Valorant’s next Sentinel Agent comes at the conclusion of Riot’s latest State of the Agents blog. This periodical series gives fans a sense of how Riot feels about the current roster of Agents and how they fit into the meta. For instance, this blog revealed that Riot are planning to implement design changes for Yoru, but that this development is taking time. Additionally, plans are underway to improve the viability of KAY/0 and help the robotic Agent to play against Skye. Finally, Jett may receive further fine-tuning to improve her role as a Duelist after the recent release of Patch 3.06, if the new changes prove not to be enough.
