You Can Catch the Coolest Squirtle Ever in Pokemon GO This Weekend
Whether or not you believe that Pokemon GO is a good game, you can’t say that Niantic hasn’t been supporting the mobile title with updates, new generations of Pokemon, and super-fun events, like the monthly community days for example. The next one is happening this weekend and during the hours of 2-5 p.m. EST on July 8, you might have the chance to capture one of the coolest Squirtle’s to ever grace the anime that is Pokemon, the lead member of the Squirtle Squad, with his sunglasses and all.
Community days in Pokemon GO serve as an opportunity for players to leave their homes, go explore, and make new friends, while celebrating the amazing community that surrounds Pokemon GO. During community day, there is usually a special Pokemon to be featured that knows a previously unavailable move for it and its evolution; there are also some sweet bonuses to earn as well for participating in the event.
The next community day is this Sunday and during the hours of 2-5 p.m. EST, you will be able to find a boat-load of Squirtles, use three-hour lures, and hatch eggs just a little bit faster. In order to find the sunglasses-wearing Squirtle, you must complete field tasks during community day.
If you’re like us and have no friends to play Pokemon GO with during the community hours, there are tons of dedicated groups out there on Facebook and other social media websites. Niantic suggests searching for your city name in conjunction with Pokemon GO on your preferred search engine to find players around you who are planning to meet up this Sunday afternoon.
