Madden 22 TOTW 8 Players Revealed Including Adrian Phillips and Reggie Wayne
The eighth edition of Madden’s Team of the Week series is coming up, as EA reveals which players of the past and present made the latest squad. With Madden 22 TOTW 8, we’re getting a look at the Player of the Week Adrian Phillips card, based on a standout defensive performance. Additionally, two players with great work on the gridiron in previous seasons are this week’s heroes.
Madden 22 TOTW 8 players include POTW Adrian Phillips
The New England Patriots may no longer have Tom Brady or Rob Gronkowski, but they still have some great defensive stars under Bill Belichick. That includes Adrian Phillips who gets the Madden 22 TOTW 8 POTW honors. In the Pats’ win against the Los Angeles Chargers, Phillips had three tackles, two interceptions, and a touchdown.
With that performance, he gets an upgraded Team of the Week card which has a 93 overall rating. Top attributes on this card will include his 93 Play Recognition, 93 Acceleration, 91 Tackling, 90 Pursuit, and 90 Speed.
Along with Phillips’ POTW item, there are the LTD and Heroes players. The Limited item for Madden 22 TOTW 8 goes to former Kansas City Chiefs LB Dee Ford. His October 28, 2018 game against Denver included five tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Ford’s card, a 94 OVR, has 94 Finesse Moves, 92 Tackling, 92 Play Recognition, 90 Acceleration, and 89 Block Shedding. Check out Phillips’ and Ford’s items below:
Hoeres Players include Reggie Wayne, John Abraham
Joining Adrian Phillips and Dee Ford are several other players. The TOTW Heroes get cards due to their past performances. This week’s Offensive Hero for Madden 22 TOTW 8 is Reggie Wayne. On October 29, 2006, Wayne had 10 receptions for 138 yards and three touchdowns for the Colts in their game against the Broncos. His new card features a 93 OVR along with 92 Speed, 92 Catching, 92 Medium Route, 91 Short Route, and 90 Spectacular Catch.
For this week’s Defensive Hero, gamers can acquire former New York Jets right end John Abraham. He recorded five tackles with three tackles for losses and four sacks in his team’s November 2001 game against New Orleans.
Abraham’s new card below features a 93 OVR with 93 Acceleration, 92 Finesse Moves, 90 Play Recognition, 89 Speed, 89 Tackling, and 88 Strength. Check out his card and Wayne’s below with more details about TOTW after the images.
Who else is on the Team of the Week 8?
More players will be revealed ahead of the official release on Tuesday, November 2 via EA Madden’s Good Morning Madden show. Gamers can watch it on the EA Madden Twitch channel around 10 a.m. Eastern Time. The show features a full look at all Team of the Week 8 players coming to Ultimate Team in Madden 22.
Early predictions are circulating for who else might get new cards in the release. Some New York Jets fans are probably hoping for backup QB Mike White who got the start Sunday and guided his team to a win over Cincinnati. Cowboys fans are probably hoping for Cooper Rush, the team’s backup QB who helped them to a victory at Minnesota.
White could get an upgrade thanks to 405 passing yards and three touchdowns in the win. He also was the recipient of a pass to the endzone for the two-point conversion on a tricky Jets play.
The Bucs’ Chris Godwin also came up big for his team. Despite a loss, Godwin had 140 yards receiving and a touchdown. So it wouldn’t be surprising if he gets onto TOTW 8.
On the defensive side, Xavier Woods was also on the losing side with his team, the Vikings, falling in Sunday Night Football to Dallas. However, Woods’ stats included four solo tackles, eight assisted tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception.
Another potential defensive star from Week 8 is Malik Reed. The Denver LB had three solo tackles and a forced fumble in the Broncos’ 17-10 victory over Washington Football Team.
