Battlefield 2042 Voice Chat Won’t Be Available at Launch
Early access to Battlefield 2042 unlocked today for players who purchased the Gold or Ultimate versions of the game. One thing that has surprised a lot of users has been the discovery that Battlefield 2042 voice chat is not yet available at launch. When can we expect this feature, and what can you do in the meantime?
Gamers Will Need to Wait for Battlefield 2042 Voice Chat
There will be voice chat in Battlefield 2042, but it is simply not here yet. EA has stated that it is on the way, but has not given a specific date or timeframe. All they have said is that we can expect it “ASAP.” So, hopefully this situation will be short-lived.
What Can You Do Without Voice Chat in Battlefield 2042?
This may leave you wondering what you can do in the meantime. After all, being able to chat with your squad can be essential, especially when you are playing a mode like the new Hazard Zone. There are a couple of options.
If you are playing with friends, then the best thing to do is just to use a third party application such as Discord for voice chat. If you do not already have a Discord server set up, you will need to create one. Once you do, you will probably find it handy not just for Battlefield 2042, but for other games you and your friends like to play as well.
What if you are playing with random people through matchmaking? You are going to be stuck for now with the game’s text chat system. You also can make use of the ping system and the quick chat menu, all of which will help you to coordinate with your squad. Naturally, this will not be as effective as simply having voice chat, but it is better than nothing, right? Just be aware that some other squads may have a leg up on you if they are talking through an outside app. Of course, this makes for good incentive to set up your own squad with people you trust.
