Are you an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, or thinking about taking out a subscription? If so, you might be wondering, “Is Battlefield 2042 on Game Pass?” The answer to this question is a little complicated. The full game is not available on Game Pass, but a trial this week is.
Is Battlefield 2042 on Game Pass? As a Trial, Yes
It might seem weird that you cannot play the full game with a Game Pass subscription this week as EA Play and Xbox Game Pass are bundled together. But this is just one of those exceptions that sometimes crop up.
If you have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you can access Battlefield 2042 through your subscription right now. But here’s the catch—it is not the full, unlimited game. It is a ten-hour trial. Within the space of those ten hours, you can enjoy the full range of features in Battlefield 2042. But you just cannot keep playing after your ten hours expire. Also, take note that if you do not use up all ten hours, you will still lose access once the game releases on the 19th.
What if you love playing Battlefield 2042 and want to continue? Well, one idea is just to buy the game. If you grab the Gold or Ultimate version, you will be able to continue playing through the rest of this week and forever after that. If you get the Standard edition, you will lose access until November 19th, the general release date for the game. After that, it is obviously yours forever.
A different option is to subscribe to EA Play Pro. If you do this, you will not lose access to the game after the ten-hour trial ends. Instead, you will be able to keep playing indefinitely. With both options, you can transfer your progress. So, you will not lose what you did during your trial.
So, is Battlefield 2042 on Game Pass? During the early access period, as a ten-hour trial, yes. But after that, no. Learn more in this post about your options for early access. Catch up on other updates and guides for Battlefield 2042 in our Battlefield news section.
