Call of Duty: Vanguard was released on November 5 and players are still learning it. However, despite the game being new, it is obvious that some weapons have a clear advantage over their counterparts. Thanks to numerous reports by players, Sledgehammer Games has decided to release several nerfs to weapons to make them less effective.
Considering that the game is still new, this was expected. Unfortunately, weapon balance issues are not the only problems Vanguard players have been dealing with. Sledgehammer Games will have a lot of work to do to polish the game and make it more enjoyable, but the upcoming Call of Duty nerf will certainly make the game better.
Call of Duty weapon nerfs are coming
Many Call of Duty: Vanguard players pick between several “meta” weapons. The STG44 assault rifle has established itself as one of the most effective weapons so far, along with the MP40 submachine gun. While these two weapons are strong and reliable, shotguns have been almost unstoppable!
A recent clip went viral after Zexafy earned the V2 Rocket killstreak in around half a minute. He was not the only player to earn this killstreak in such a short period, which is why this Call of Duty nerf is coming. Keep in mind, the V2 Rocket requires 25 kills in a row, which is something that should not be possible in just 30 seconds.
Sledgehammer Games posted a tweet with a simple caption: “We’re here to perform a shotgun exorcism.” While the tweet confirms an upcoming shotgun nerf, it is still not clear how big this nerf is going to be. Furthermore, Call of Duty: Vanguard players don’t even know when it will be released.
The popularity has gone down, drastically
The Vanguard had the worst launch of all Call of Duty titles in the last 14 years. It is down 40 percent from Black Ops Cold War, the 2020 Call of Duty title. While the game has managed to have the second-biggest launch of the year, only behind FIFA 22, its numbers are far behind its predecessors. As a matter of fact, it had the worst launch since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the 2007 title.

It seems that players have decided to stick to Warzone this year and pass on the paid title. The battle royale game will get its Vanguard implemention in early December, which means there will be many new content and the new map!
