Pokemon Quest Hits 3.5 Million Downloads on Mobile

Game Freak’s free to play title, Pokemon Quest, has reached over 3.5 million downloads on mobile devices in the first week of launching for iOS and Android devices late last month. Pokemon Quest has players exploring Tumblecube Island, going on expeditions, making recipes, befriending Pokemon, and upgrading your team to ensure success.

Being a free-to-start title, Pokemon Quest is totally free to play, but there are ways to spend some money only if you want to play without any restrictions. According to Sensor Tower, in the first week of being out on mobile devices, Pokemon Quest has managed to reach over 3.5 million downloads and has made over $3 million in global player spending.

More than half of the revenue comes from Apple platforms, sitting at 56 percent, while 44 percent of the revenue comes from Android devices. These numbers don’t account for the Switch version of the game which has been out for over a month now on Nintendo’s hybrid console. Considering how much players have spent on Pokemon Quest on mobile, we expect the numbers for the Switch version to be similar or even higher than $3 million in total spending.

Pokemon Quest does a decent job at not making the player feel like they must spend money in order to steadily progress through the game. You can finish the entirety of the game without spending a dollar which falls in line with other mobile games that Nintendo has published for iOS and Android.

Pokemon Quest is out now on the Nintendo Switch and on iOS and Android devices. Have you guys spent any money on the free-to-start title? Or are you making your way through the expeditions with no need to spend? Let us know how you feel about Pokemon Quest – we would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on the game.
