The latest Title Update for Far Cry 5 is about to release, and Ubisoft has now revealed the patch notes. Included among a host of new Arcade Mode Editor assets is the revelation that it will implement a Far Cry 5 Photo Mode. This mode will only feature in the solo campaign, however.
Far Cry 5’s Title Update 8
Title Update 8 will launch tomorrow, on the 5th of July. Photo Mode is certainly the headline update, added to the Main Menu of all of Far Cry 5’s solo modes. Alongside the Far Cry 5 Photo Mode, the Title Update will add a new Lobby Browser to the Arcade for multiplayer lobbies. In addition, new game assets will be added to the Arcade Editor; vehicles, weapons, vegetation, static assets, and both enemy and animal AI from the game’s Hours of Darkness DLC. Weapons and static assets from the upcoming Lost on Mars DLC will also be added, along with damage region assets.
Along with the new content, Title Update 8 will also implement a number of bug fixes and performance tweaks, mostly for gameplay and UI bugs. This will also be the first patch to fix bugs in Hours of Darkness. Unlike previous Title Updates, Title Update 8 won’t be adding any new special outfits to Far Cry 5.
Although Photo Mode is a nice addition to the game; perhaps the most interesting new addition are the weapons and static assets from Lost on Mars. Ubisoft has yet to announce a release date for Far Cry 5’s second DLC; it is expected to launch sometime this month. Several gamers delved into Far Cry 5’s files around two months ago, and found what appeared to be weapons from Lost on Mars, including placeholders for a “Mars Flamethrower” and “Power Glove”. It will be interesting to see whether those placeholders appear as fully-fledged assets in the Arcade Editor tomorrow.
