Twitch Announces Ads Incentive Program For Streamers

We all know how popular Twitch has become for all types of streamers and audiences. Now, the company is working on getting its streamers paid for their contributions. Ads are a primary way for streamers to earn money, but the current process for advertising on Twitch can be complicated.

In a recently-deleted Twitch blog post, the company announced that it would be running a new Ads Incentive Program (AIP). Below, we’ll explore the ins and outs of this AIP and what it means for streamers on the popular platform.

How Twitch’s AIP Works

Twitch’s overall goal with the AIP is to allow streamers to remove the guesswork out of how much ad revenue they’re generating. The program will also provide personalized offers for streamers.

Through this AIP, streamers will have ads running at regular intervals during a set number of streaming hours. Depending on the agreement between the individual streamer and Twitch, the streamer will receive a guaranteed payout.

This will help Twitch streamers better understand their monthly income, which is extremely helpful to those streamers who rely on Twitch to earn a living. Additionally, there’s no cap on potential income, which benefits streamers in the long term.

Essentially, Twitch will first provide you with an incentive offer. If you’re one of the selected Partners and Affiliates, it will appear in the Ads Manager dashboard. After you accept the offer, Twitch sets the Ad Managers to the rate you agreed to.

Then, to receive the guaranteed payout, you’ll need to stream the minimum number of hours required, which is outlined in the agreement between you and Twitch. At the end of every month, you’ll be able to collect the payout based on the incentive.

It’s a fairly simple process — and the best part? Streamers will earn a normal ad payout rate for any additional hours of streaming after the offer is completed. Basically, the more you stream, the more you can make.

Why Twitch Is Running an AIP

According to the now-deleted blog post, Twitch states two reasons why it’s implementing the AIP program:

  • Having a reliable, predictable income is important to streamers
  • Taking time to manage ads takes away time for streamers to create stellar content for their audience

However, since the blog post was deleted, it’s unclear whether or not Twitch will launch at all or if it will be different from what’s described above.

We know that Twitch makes it a point for streamers to have easy access to the Ad Manager in their dashboards. Twitch’s advertising feature uses predictive analytics with the help of modern technology, such as AI. This is so streamers can learn about their revenue, performance and understand insights about their audience.

These analytics can help streamers improve their content and tailor it to their audience, allowing them to grow their following and succeed on Twitch. Data is available immediately following every stream, making it a critical part of a streamer’s job.

Twitch’s AIP: Keep an Eye Out for More Updates

Overall, this potential AIP program is something Twitch streamers should look out for in the future. Due to Twitch deleting its blog post, it’s possible the program may never be implemented, or Twitch has delayed its rollout. Keep an eye out in the coming months so you can take advantage of the AIP.
