PUBG has been amassing additional features ever since its launch, and there’s more coming around the corner, namely the new map Codename: Savage, which just hit test servers a few weeks ago. Now, it’s the mobile version’s turn to get a few updates to keep things fresh. With Fortnite Mobile’s dizzying amounts of success, it’s going to need a lot to keep players coming back, too. That’s why it’s good news that the base game’s Arcade mode is now out for players on Android devices and coming soon to iOS devices.
The update, which you can nab right now via Google Play, comes with a new dusk setting and training area, but also Arcade Mode. It pits 28 players rather than 100 into a tinier space for a more frenetic battle royale. Additional weapons will be found on the ground, in one of six types each game: Melee Only, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, All Weapons, and Item Heaven. It adds a bit more variety to the pint-sized version of PUBG, and you’ll be able to play with friends who only have the mobile version as well. As you can imagine, Arcade Mode is faster and furious than the vanilla game, guaranteed to raise your heart rate a little quicker than the slowness of the 100-player game.
PUBG Mobile will definitely have to keep up at all times with Fortnite’s mobile version, especially considering the money folks are dropping on Epic Games’ creation. PUBG Mobile is fourth on the Top Free Android Apps list on Google Play, but it may not hold that spot long if it doesn’t keep up with Fortnite’s pace.
