Epic Games has released the v20.40 update for Fortnite Battle Royale on Tuesday, May 17. This update has added several huge things, including map changes, new cosmetic items, and the live event files. However, the game developer has also released a huge change to V-Bucks, Fortnite’s in-game currency, with it!
The Fortnite developer has added several amazing things to the game lately and this is one of them. For the first time since the video game came out, PlayStation players can use their V-Bucks on other platforms. This is a huge step in the right direction as it allows players to have complete control over their purchased currency.
Fortnite V-Bucks are no longer tied to one platform only
Until Fortnite’s v20.40 update was released, PlayStation players could only spend their V-Bucks on their own platform. These V-Bucks were not shared across platforms, which wasn’t great for players who liked their complete progress to be shared. For example, if you purchased Fortnite V-Bucks on PlayStation, but you also play on PC, those V-Bucks would not be available on PC.
Fortunately, this has changed with the last update. Now, PlayStation players can use their V-Bucks on almost any other platform, including mobile and PC. Furthermore, these V-Bucks can be spent on Xbox as well!
PlayStation has joined the so-called Fortnite’s Shared Wallet. Unfortunately, this wallet is currently not available on Nintendo Switch, but hopefully it will be released soon to this platform as well. PlayStation players can now spend their Fortnite V-Bucks on other platforms, including the V-Bucks from Save the World.
Fortnite is back to iOS
Players who love playing Fortnite on the go can download it once again to iOS devices, including an iPhone. Thanks to Cloud Gaming, Microsoft’s new service, players can now play Fortnite on their mobile devices once again.

If you are a PlayStation user, Fortnite’s Shared Wallet addition is great news for you! You can now use your Fortnite V-Bucks while playing on your mobile device as well.
