In today’s random set of news, a certain tile on the ground in Fortnite right now is killing players instantly. This is only occurring after the release of the season eight update this week. It didn’t happen before the release of today’s patch notes, oddly enough. The instant murdering tile can be found near Fatal Fields and the Fork Knife location north of it.
Players did not start discovering the instakill tile until the release of the patch notes today. Apparently, just stepping on this tile will result in the death of the player right then. No damage over time but simply instant death awaits. This is rather unfortunate for those players just enjoying a nice match of Battle Royale only to be killed in an unfair way.

Thankfully, Epic Games is already aware of this terrible issue and is working on it right now. Like always, the responsive developer is already hard at work to fix this surprising problem. The developer says that it will be releasing a fix for this instant kill tile shortly. In the meantime, though, we recommend that you avoid the Fork Knife and Fatal Fields areas just to be safe.
After all, one instakill tile could mean that there are more elsewhere or nearby. Players should tread lightly in the meantime and avoid any suspicious tiles. The specific tile that we already know about is near the knife section of the Fork Knife area. While there are plenty of new bugs that appear after a new update, this is the first we’ve heard of an instakill one.
Thankfully, a fix for this tragic bug will be coming soon. This tile brings a whole new meaning to Fatal Fields. For more on Fortnite, be sure to check out our leaks for the week two challenges.
