In the wake of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer gameplay premiere, Activision has announced a brand-new version of the game; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Dark Edition. This edition comes with a variety of pre-order bonuses and extra content, but more notably, an actual pair of night vision goggles with their own display stand.
What’s Included With the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Dark Edition
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Dark Edition is now available to pre-order at a variety of retailers. However, this version of the game is only available in limited numbers. It’s unknown exactly how many, but fans hoping to get their hands on it should probably act sooner rather than later. In your copy of the Dark Edition, you can expect to get the game, a steelbook, and the goggles. (With a display stand.) When it comes to in-game content, you’ll get a custom Tactical Knife and three Operator Packs; “All Ghillied Up,” “Crew Expendable,” and “War Pig”. Finally, at some participating retailers, you’ll also get a Call of Duty Endowment ‘Animated Calling Card.’
The night vision goggles included with the Dark Edition aren’t merely a display piece. (Although they certainly do look impressive.) These goggles are actually fully functional. Plus, they’ve been custom-fitted with decals and more to make them feel as close to the in-game goggles as possible. They feature three different. One allows you to use them in daylight, though it will automatically switch to night vision if the ambient light level is low. Finally, you can manually switch to a Long Range IR mode. This should allow you to see up to 65 feet in total darkness. Plus, the goggles have knobs which allow you to manually adjust transverse displacement, as well as the distance from your eyes.
You can charge the goggles using any suitable USB charging cord, as the goggles have a USB charging port. When you’re not actually using them, the Dark Edition does also come with a custom display stand.
