Alex Mason, the original protagonist of Call of Duty: Black Ops, is coming to Black Ops Cold War as a playable Operator! Launching as part of Season 6 on October 7th, Mason is one of two new Operators coming this season. Mason himself will be available to anybody who purchases the Season 6 Battle Pass.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 6 – Operators
“The original Black Ops protagonist arrives just in time for what could be Adler and Stitch’s ultimate duel,” writes Activision; “Hailing from the harsh wilderness within the Golden Heart of Alaska known as Fairbanks, Mason is a former Marine whose service record and reputation are mired in controversy. Despite his impulsive and reckless behaviour, his effectiveness in the field is indisputable.”
Alex Mason will be available for players to use as a NATO Operator when Season 6 launches next week. He is unlockable as the Tier 0 reward in the Season 6 Battle Pass; as such, anybody who purchases the Battle Pass will automatically be able to play as him in Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone.
Coming later in Season 6, the Warsaw Pact will also be getting a new Operator. Benito “Fuze” Ortega is the next Perseus operative; a bomb-disposal expert who has been recruited by Perseus to disrupt devices beneath Verdansk – shown in the Season 6 trailer. These devices are the very same which have caused earthquakes to wrack the Warzone map. Activision describes this Spanish Operator as a thrill-seeker; “who never turned down a high-stakes job, no matter the risk”. Indeed, he is evidently no stranger to risk, since he is missing both his original legs!
Fuze will be available for players to acquire later in Season 6. As per usual for a mid-season Operator, players will need to purchase a Store Bundle if they wish to play as him.
