At last, on the day before the launch of Apex Legends Season 5, Respawn has revealed the abilities which Loba will have at her disposal when she becomes available to play. Not only does Loba have teleportation, but she has a range of powers relating to loot which could make her extremely useful in competitive multiplayer.
Apex Legends Season 5: Loba’s Abilities
“When Loba was eight,” writes Respawn; “she looked on as simulacrum hitman Revenant killed her family. Left with nothing, Loba survived by picking pockets. […] Desperate to find a way to kill him, she sabotaged a facility full of Revenant bodies, bringing Skull Town and Thunderdome crashing down in the process. However, she learned it was just one of many such factories hidden across the Frontier. Now, she’s joined the Games to find a way to end him for good.”
Loba’s Passive Ability in Apex Legends is ‘Eye for Quality,’ which is her first ability focusing on loot. This ability allows Loba to see both legendary and epic loot through walls. The range of this ability is equal to the range on her Ultimate; Black Market Boutique. Her Tactical Ability, meanwhile, is more focused on mobility than loot. ‘Burglar’s Best Friend’ is a teleportation ability which allows her to throw her Jump Drive bracelet and then teleport to where it lands.
Finally, Loba has her Ultimate, Black Market Boutique. Although it doesn’t offer Loba any offensive boosts, it could become one of the most valuable utility abilities in Apex Legends. When she activates this ability, she sets down her quarterstaff and opens it up. The stave locates all loot items in a wide range, whether they’re in containers or not. Moreover, it allows Loba and other nearby players to steal them. Anybody who activates the stave while it is set down can take up to two items from inside, stealing those items from their actual locations. Interestingly, both friendly and enemy players can actually use this cache, if Loba leaves it open.
