Fortnite Battle Royale season 6 is finally out! Epic Games has added a lot of new features to the popular video game, a new Battle Pass, and map changes. The long-awaited season is finally here, and players can explore the new areas on the island.
While the latest update hasn’t added any new named places, the map has still been changed. A few places on the map have been completely changed, while the Fortnite developer released some subtle changes for some of them. In this article, we will write down all the map changes in season 6.
Loot Lake
The cube has made the lake erupt and it turned the center area into a floating island. Loot Lake is not bouncy anymore, but players will be pushed up to the top when they reach the center of it.
Haunted Castle
This castle can be found above Haunted Hills area. It’s exactly on the hill behind the church, and it looks amazing! Epic Games has teased players with a castle for a long time, and it’s finally made it to the game.
Wailing Woods
Wailing Woods has received a huge update for season 6. The area now has a secret bunker in the center of the maze and a few lodges. Considering that the location has much more loot now, it should be a popular landing spot this season.
At the moment, it is unknown what the exact purpose of the secret bunker is. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if Epic Games decides to use it for another in-game event later in the season.
Fatal Fields
Fatal Fields area now has corn fields. Chests can spawn inside these fields and players can also use them to hide from their enemies. This could be an interesting area for a Halloween event!
Retail Row
Epic Games has opened a Halloween store in Retail Row. Players can find some chests in the area, as well as some Halloween accessories. This is probably Epic’s way of telling us that we will get another big Halloween event, and Skull Trooper will most likely come back to the store!
Corrupted areas
Fortnite’s corrupted areas are arguably the biggest addition in a season 6 map. These areas have a couple of chests and shadow stones players can use to transform into shadows. While in the shadow form, players move much faster and they take no fall damage. They can also become invisible while being stationary.
Damaged areas
The secret base by Snobby Shores and the mansion by Lonely Lodge have both been severely damaged. Both of these places were introduced in season 4 as a part of the storyline, so it won’t be surprising if the Fortnite developer removes them from the map completely this season.
Small huts
The season 6 update has added three small huts to the Fortnite Battle Royale island. Each hut is made from a specific material players can use in the game. The wooden hut is located East of Paradise Palms, while the brick one can be found southwest of Greasy Grove. The metal hut is on the edge of the island, north of Lazy Links.
Additionally, the hut that was damaged by the cube near Fatal Fields is being reconstructed. There is a good chance that Epic Games keeps changing this hut so we can follow its construction progress over the course of the season.
