With the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4, both Modern Warfare and Warzone have gotten another big batch of new content – with much more to come throughout the season. While the addition of Captain Price as a playable Operator is the headline feature, Season 4 boasts new maps, new weapons, and some major updates for Warzone.
Modern Warfare Season 4: New Content & Warzone Updates
In the launch week of Season 4, which is now in full swing, Modern Warfare players can expect a hefty delivery of new content. There are three new maps this week, including the ‘Scrapyard’ multiplayer map, ‘Trench’ Gunfight map, and ‘Barakett Promenade’ Ground War map. Captain Price is, of course, a new playable Operator, and there are two new guns available through the new Season 4 Battle Pass; the Fennec SMG and the CR-56 AMAX. Additionally, Warzone has gotten a Rumble 50v50 mode, new Contract Contraband, and more.
However, while this is the largest release of content in Season 4, there is still plenty to come. While there may be more which has yet to be announced, Season 4 has one more map coming; a new multiplayer map called Cheshire Park. There will also be three new multiplayer modes launching later in the season; All or Nothing, One in the Chamber, and Team Defender. Two additional Operators, Gaz & Rose, and on the way, alongside two more weapons; the Rytec AMR and Kali Sticks. Plus, Warzone is in for a whole host of updates.
The biggest new addition to Warzone in Season 4 is that of in-match updates. These are essentially special events which can occur mid-match. For now, there are three which can occur; Fire Sale, Jailbreak, and Supply Chopper. The Fire Sale event puts huge discounts on most Buy Station items and may even make some items free. In fact, you’ll be able to buy back squadmates for free during a Fire Sale! This event only lasts 60 seconds, however, so you’ll have to be fast. Jailbreak will automatically release all players from the Gulag at once, while Supply Chopper spawns an AI helicopter which can be brought down to access a cache of loot.
