A lot of speculations have been made about when the Death Stranding release window could be set. While Sony and Kojima Productions hasn’t made anything official yet, Amazon has now set both Seath Stranding and The Last of Us 2 for a 2019 release.
The reason Amazon has possibly revealed the Last of Us 2 and Death Stranding release windows are the fact that Germany has now ended pre-orders on games that have no release dates. Release windows are clearly not the same on that note, however, this is a step towards the right direction when it comes to pre-orders.
Wolfgang Schuldzinski, CEO of Düsseldorf Consumer, commented upon their decision:
“When consumers order goods on the internet, providers must specify by when the goods are delivered”
On Amazon, the release date for Death Stranding has been set for March 29th 2019, however, this doesn’t sound plausible since the same one is set for The Last of Us 2.
Hideo Kojima has already stated that the Death Stranding release will come before the start of the 2020 Olympics and possibly before the announced Akira movie set for 2019. This pretty much gives us the sense that the game was indeed stated for release within the next year.
Death Stranding is for now one of the most anticipated titles to release on Playstation 4. Both it and The Last of Us 2 are concidered console sellers for Sony and the company depends on them to add more amazing single player titles in their library.
As we know, Sony might release the next generation of Playstation 4 consoles by the end of 2020, giving developers and publishers a big release window for their upcoming games. With a huge cast of games announced to get release on Playstation 4, it’s hopeful to say the least that all those titles will release within two years.
