The Apex Legends Grand Soirée event is in full-swing, and as such, it’s no surprise that Respawn is also running an Apex Legends Bonus Scoring Weekend. This weekend-long mini-event will give players an extra set of event challenges, as well as serving as an ideal opportunity to try out the new third-person mode, which will also be live throughout the weekend.
The Apex Legends Bonus Scoring Weekend and Grand Soirée
Tomorrow, the LIVE.DIE.LIVE game mode will be replaced by the upcoming Third-Person Mode; the first chance that players have ever gotten to try Apex Legends with a third-person perspective. This will be the third of the seven new game modes featuring throughout the Grand Soirée event. Just like the others, it will only be available for two days. Specifically, it will be available on the 18th and 19th of January, coinciding with the Apex Legends Bonus Scoring Weekend.

The Bonus Scoring Weekend actually began this morning, giving players an early start on the weekend. It will remain live until 10:00 AM PST on the 20th (Monday morning). During this mini-event, players will; “be able to grab an additional set of event-specific challenges worth a total of 500 points”. This is quite significant, as players only need to complete 5,500 points worth of challenges to complete the Grand Soirée Event Prize Track; a new approach to delivering event rewards.
Each of the seven game modes features 1,000 points of challenges, meaning that players don’t need to complete everything. However, if you missed the start of the event, or if you just want to get a leg up on the track, then the bonus weekend’s extra 500 points could be exactly what you need. Besides, the weekend is the perfect excuse to try out Third-Person Mode, which, after all, will only be available for two days. On the 20th, it will no longer be available, while Always Be Closing will take its place.
