Apex Legends Cross-Play Announced During EA Play

When will we get cross-play for Apex Legends? The long wait for an answer is over, and that answer is “this fall.” Today during EA Play, the arrival of Apex Legends cross-play was finally announced. Adding to the excitement, the game is coming to a couple of additional platforms as well.

Apex Legends Cross-Play is Coming

We have known for a while now that EA has been working on cross-play. But it wasn’t until today that it was finally confirmed to be coming soon. There wasn’t a specific date, but we were given a timeframe of “fall.”

Apex Legends cross-play by itself is already great news. Fall can’t get here soon enough. But it gets even better. Cross-play won’t just be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It is going to be available for a couple new platforms as well. And one of them may not be what you expect.

There was chatter over recent days that Apex Legends might be coming to Steam. Some people also thought that it could be on the way to Nintendo Switch, but that seemed less likely.

So, we were pleasantly surprised today when we found out that Apex Legends is going to be coming to Steam and Nintendo Switch. So that is a total of five platforms on which the game will be available as of this fall. And no matter what platform you are using, you will be able to play with your friends.
