At last, after almost two weeks of the Apex Legends Battle Armor event, its final phase has arrived. This last quarter will be live until the event ends on the 12th of May. During these next few days, the new Evo Armor item will be available for the first time; the item which has been the headline feature of the whole Battle Armor event.
Apex Legends Evo Armor is Now Available
During Season 4 of Apex Legends, Respawn ran the System Override event, which first introduced the Evo Shield item. This item, which has since become a permanent addition to Apex Legends, offers players a very different shield mechanic to normal shields. Now, Respawn is giving players their first chance to use Evo Armor, an armor equivalent to Evo Shields. At the moment, the Battle Armor limited-time game mode features nothing but Evo Armor. As such, you’re guaranteed to find some when you drop into a match.
Like Evo Shields, Evo Armor start at the same strength as White Armor, the weakest type of armor. However, as you deal more damage to enemy players, your Evo Armor gets stronger and stronger. In this way, it progresses up through several tiers in sequence; it moves from White to Blue to Purple, and then up to Orange. This all-new tier is even stronger than Purple Armor and is now the strongest level of armor in the game.
At present, it’s unknown if Respawn will make Evo Armor a permanent addition to Apex Legends after the conclusion of the Battle Armor event. It’s certainly a possibility, given how quickly Evo Shields became permanent. However, with the studio currently focusing on the upcoming launch of Season 5, they haven’t yet confirmed one way or another. If they do add it, Evo Armor could certainly become a regular fixture in Season 5, especially if it proves as popular as Evo Shields.
