The first Apex Legends event of 2021 is now live, as of today, bringing with it a meta update and a whole host of new content. The Apex Legends Fight Night Collection Event includes a limited-time game mode, a Pathfinder Town Takeover, and 24 new event cosmetics.
Apex Legends Fight Night Collection Event
The Apex Legends Fight Night Collection Event is the first in-game event of the new year, following the release of the “Fight Night” episode of Stories From the Outlands. The new event, which is themed after Pathfinder’s episode, brings a Town Takeover for the Legend; a shielded boxing ring where players can only use melee strikes to fight.

Fight Night also introduces Airdrop Escalation, a new limited-time game mode. Unlike previous LTM modes, this new one is taking over the standard battle royale mode for the duration of the two-week event. As such, the game’s regular mode won’t actually be playable. Airdrop Escalation makes only a few minor changes to the game, however; periodical supply drops which come down during the course of a match. The event also adds new Loot MRVNs to the Olympus map.
Of course, as a Collection Event, Fight Night features 24 new cosmetics. Some extra rewards are also available via a special event prize track. The track gives players the chance to earn 5,000 XP, which also counts towards Battle Pass progress. Players who collect all 24 of the cosmetics before the end of the event will unlock a new Heirloom for Gibraltar.
However, it’s not just new content that’s come to Apex Legends today. The first update of 2021 also rolled out today, alongside the event launch, including bug-fixes, quality-of-life tweaks, and a meta update. This includes some rather noteworthy changes, such as allowing players to automatically use Ultimate Accelerants without opening their inventory. Both Caustic and Rampart have gotten minor buffs, while Mirage’s decoys will now have audible footsteps.
