After months spent with the map unavailable to play, it seems as though Respawn suddenly can’t resist giving Apex Legends players the chance to return to King’s Canyon. After returning for a limited-time weekend, the map is back once again for week 2 of the System Override event. Even after that ends, players will only have to wait a few days before it returns once more for the second half of Ranked Series 3!
Apex Legends King’s Canyon Map Available for the Next Week
We are now into the second week of Respawn’s System Override Collection Event, the first major event in Apex Legends’ 4th season. Featuring the usual slew of new cosmetics and event rewards, System Override also features a new game mode; Deja Loot. In this mode, all loot spawns are preset rather than random. That means that every time you enter a match, the loot will be exactly the same as it was in the last match. During the first week of the event, this mode was available to play on World’s Edge, giving players a week to memorise the best loot locations.
Now, to shake things up a bit, Deja Loot has moved across to King’s Canyon, bringing the classic map back to Apex Legends once again. This is the second time during season 4 that King’s Canyon has been playable. Respawn brought the map back for a single weekend around three weeks ago. This time, the map will be available for a full week, although it’s only available for the Deja Loot mode. Of course, the map change means that players have an all-new set of loot locations to learn.
Fans of King’s Canyon won’t have to wait too long before the map will be available once more, after the end of System Override. On the 23rd of March, the first half of Ranked Series 3 comes to an end. This is the first Ranked Series to feature a split, where all players will have a soft rank reset. It will also feature a map change, with the Ranked Play map switching over from World’s Edge to King’s Canyon. The latter map will then be active for the entire second half of Ranked Series 3.
