The Apex Legends Grand Soirée event is now in full-swing, with the first of seven game modes currently available. However, following on from Gold Rush Duos, players will have the chance to play a whole new mode from tomorrow. The Apex Legends LIVE.DIE.LIVE mode will be replacing Gold Rush Duos on the 16th of January and will be available throughout the 16th and 17th.
The New Apex Legends LIVE.DIE.LIVE Game Mode
The upcoming Apex Legends LIVE.DIE.LIVE mode, like each of the seven Grand Soirée event game modes, will only be available to play for two days. Players who want to complete the event’s special Prize Track don’t necessarily need to play this mode. However, it will feature three challenges for players to complete which are worth a total of 1,000 points (5,500 points are needed to complete the track). Additionally, it’s worth noting that a special badge will be awarded to any players who try all seven of the new modes.
As for what players can expect in the LIVE.DIE.LIVE mode, this new mode is relatively similar to a standard battle royale match. However, it features a new respawn mechanic which gives squads the chance to get back into the fight. In this mode, whenever the ring closes, all dead squadmates automatically respawn, so long as at least one of their squadmates is still alive. If every member of a team is eliminated then the squad doesn’t come back. However, if even just one person can stay alive, then the entire squad can make a sudden comeback.
This change could significantly change the latter half of matches in Apex Legends. After all, squads are likely to retain their numbers much later in the game, while there’s also a chance for more squads to reach the later stages too. LIVE.DIE.LIVE will be available to play through the 16th and 18th of January. On the 18th, it will be replaced by the third Grand Soirée mode; Third-Person Mode.
