The Apex Legends Iron Crown Collection Event is now live, and one of its key features is the ‘Octane Town Takeover.’ The first such event of its kind, the Apex Legends Octane Town Takeover completely changes a portion of the Kings Canyon map; adding a huge jump pad course. Additionally, fans of Octane can now claim an exclusive Octane skin on Twitch Prime.
The Apex Legends Octane Town Takeover
The Iron Crown Collection Event recently launched, bringing with it the Apex Legends Octane Town Takeover; “Octane has taken over part of Kings Canyon,” explains Director of Product Management Lee Horn; “and done a bit of remodelling to better suit his adrenaline-seeking tendencies. Check out the mega jump pad course and Ring of Fire to eliminate enemy squads in style”. This new course can be seen in the Iron Crown Collection Event trailer; a sprawling array of ramps, slopes, and jumps with in-built jump pads.
This is the first time that Respawn has done something like this on Kings Canyon. Although they did add some jump pads as a teaser ahead of the release of Octane, this is on a far grander scale. According to Horn, the developers are looking for ways to “weave Legend personalities into the map,” and this is one way of doing that. The course will remain a part of Kings Canyon even after the Iron Crown event concludes. Plus, if players like it, Respawn may do more Takeovers like this for other Legends.
