Apex Legends Season 2 Comes with a Huge 16 GB Update

Yesterday, Respawn launched Apex Legends Season 2, their second season of new content for the battle royale title. The studio has promised fans that they’ve listened to feedback from season 1, and as such, have said that season 2 contains much more new content. That certainly seems to be the case with the size of the Apex Legends Season 2 update! It certainly won’t be a quick download for most players. In fact, it’s over 16 GB!

The Apex Legends Season 2 Update

Apex Legends Season 2 is the first real chance for Respawn to show fans that the studio has heard their feedback. Given that the studio has no plans to ever make a sequel, in favour of ongoing seasonal content releases, Season 2 having a good reception is particularly important. Certainly, with what the studio has shown so far, it does look as though fans will get much more content this time around. Season 1 includes a new Legend, new weapon, new map rework, and a whole lot more.

Apex Legends Season 2 Update 16 GB

Of course, all of that new content, not to mention all of the updates and changes in the new patch, mean that the Apex Legends Season 2 update is rather sizeable. As such, fans should set aside some time if they haven’t already to downloading the 16 GB patch. Don’t expect to be able to jump into season 2 straightaway! (Unless you have extremely fast internet.)

While the size of the new update may make downloading it somewhat tedious, it’s likely a good sign for season 2; an indication of all the new content, tweaks, and bug fixes coming in the patch. For now, it remains to be seen what the player reaction to season 2 will be. However, it would be a fair bet that the new season will have a better reception than the first. As EA has learned from Battlefield, communication and a positive relationship with their fans is very important for games with long lifespans. Hopefully, Respawn has learned that same lesson.
