Boosted, Apex Legends‘ upcoming 6th season, will finally launch tomorrow, on the 18th of August. Like previous seasons, Apex Legends Season 6 brings with it a new Legend, a new weapon, map changes, and a new Battle Pass… however, it will also be adding a major new gameplay mechanic; Crafting.
Apex Legends Season 6 – Boosted
The headline addition of Apex Legends Season 6 is, of course, Rampart. This all-new Legend has a strong defensive focus, with the ability to deploy cover walls and even set up “Sheila,” her heavy minigun turret. In fact, Rampart is only part of a new defensive focus in Apex Legends Season 6. All three of the new Worlds’ Edge map locations in the new season feature Blast Walls which can be raised and lowered from control panels, allowing players to fortify the sites against attack.
In addition to these changes, players have a new weapon to look forward to in Season 6; the Volt. This new energy-based SMG first featured in Titanfall, like so many of the other weapons in Apex. However, this addition pales in comparison to that of Crafting. This totally new gameplay mechanic will offer players the ability to make their own equipment using ‘Materiales’ which they find around the map. If you take Materials to a ‘Replicator,’ the machine can print whatever you want, whether it be a weapon, armour, or consumable.
Another big change in Apex Legends Season 6 concerns armor. With the launch of Season 6, all armor is now Evo Armor. The sole exception to this change is Gold Armor, which you’ll still be able to find in rare loot locations. Moreover, all players will now spawn into every match with level 0 Evo Armor. This means that armor should now be much more accessible than in previous seasons. However, it should be noted that armor is getting a general downgrade alongside this change. All armor will now have 25 less health than it did before (Gold will have 175 instead of 200, for example.)
