The official gameplay trailer for Apex Legends Season 8 “Mayhem” has arrived, and with it, fans’ first look at what’s soon to come to the game. This includes the new Legend, Fuse, as well as the redesigned King’s Canyon, a new weapon, and much more besides.
First Look at Apex Legends Season 8
Apex Legends Season 8 was first announced last week with the release of “Good as Gold,” a new Stories From the Outlands episode which revealed the next Legend, Fuse. While much of the new content coming in Season 8 has since been announced, today’s gameplay trailer was the first time that fans had gotten to see this new content in-game; not just Fuse, but also the new 30-30 Repeater, new cosmetics, and map changes.
The headline feature of Season 8 is, of course, Fuse; the next new Legend to join the roster of playable characters. The gameplay trailer didn’t go in-depth into his abilities, although it did show off a few of them; namely, his ability to shoot a cluster-grenade from his arm, and a huge explosives launcher which appears to be his Ultimate. No doubt Respawn will release another trailer showing off his abilities in detail relatively soon.
Beyond Fuse, of course, there’s plenty more on the way in Season 8. The 30-30 Repeater, for example; the first new weapon to come to Apex Legends since Season 6 introduced the Volt. Unsurprisingly, Season 8 isn’t bringing a new map, but it is bringing a big redesign for King’s Canyon. Fans got to see just how “Obliterated Kings Canyon” came to be in the recent Season 8 launch trailer. However, today’s gameplay trailer is the first time that Respawn has shown off glimpses of the new map variant in-game. New details about the map’s changes were also released online by Respawn following the launch of the trailer.
