While Gearbox has already released a bevy of new trailers for their upcoming game, the first details released about many of their characters actually came in art form. Indeed, cosplay guides were one of the first things fans got to see from Gearbox shortly after the game’s announcement, filled with artwork of the four new Vault Hunters and other major characters. This, it seems, was just a small glimpse at the sum total of Borderlands 3 art, however. Fortunately, for fans of concept art (and Borderlands in general), much of that artwork will soon be available to purchase.

The Art of Borderlands 3 is an official art book produced by Gearbox and authored by Chris Allcock, which contains; “a breathtaking celebration of Gearbox Software’s critically acclaimed role-playing shooter video game series,” according to Insight Editions; “Featuring hundreds of pieces of dynamic concept art”. Furthermore, the book includes; “full-colour images that illustrate how the Borderlands team brought the game’s larger-than-life characters, expansive world, and diverse array of weapons to life. Experience the danger and distinctive beauty of Pandora like never before with this comprehensive collection of sketches, paintings, character studies, and more.”

Furthermore, the hardbound art book also includes interviews with members of Borderlands 3’s art team, offering even greater insights into how they approached designing the new game. The book will release on the 29th of October, later this year. However, it’s available to pre-order via Insight Editions’ website from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and IndieBound. The book retails for a price of $45.00.
