Board game developer Triton Noir has announced it is making a new Assassin’s Creed-themed tabletop game called Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice. As its name infers, the upcoming game will borrow heavily from the Italian Renaissance era of Assassin’s Creed lore and will allow players to construct their own Assassin’s Guild in either a solo or co-op setting.
Specifically, the narrative behind Brotherhood of Venice will be set in the year 1509, placing it between the events of the video game entries Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. The protagonist of those games, Ezio Auditore, will be featured in some fashion, as will prominent historical figures that also appeared in the video games such as Lucrezia Borgia and Leonardo da Vinci. Brotherhood of Venice will also feature original characters such as the Assassin initiate Alessandra shown below.
How exactly Brotherhood of Venice will function in terms of gameplay remains unknown for now, but Triton Noir promises that players will be able to build up their HQ and individual Assassins while working through a “20+ hour immersive campaign based on untold stories of the Venetian Brotherhood.” Challenges and enemies encountered by the players will be controlled by the game itself, allowing for an experience which can be played either on your own or with up to three friends.
Triton Noir, which is also known for the highly praised game V-Commandos, plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice on November 13 of this year. Those with a Kickstarter account can set a reminder for when the campaign goes live by visiting this web page. Several former members of Assassin’s Creed series developer Ubisoft are actually part of Triton Noir’s staff, and they’ll help ensure Brotherhood of Venice hews closely to the themes and concepts that fans love.
Meanwhile, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is set to arrive early next month, complete with an optional Exploration mode and a well-stocked season pass.
