Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Legacy of the First Blade is here! Cue a lot of yelling of happiness, and even a whistle from the nearest Assassin’s Creed fan to you. The point is: this is the first DLC from the new game, and it’s more than enough reason to get excited.
According to numerous reviews of the DLC, it looks to be an expansion that’ll long be remembered for being different. But the real question is, how can you start the DLC for yourself? In previous Assassin Creed games, you’ve been transported to another place off-map, and thus have to complete the whole DLC in one or two sittings. This wasn’t the best way for players, but it got the job done.
However, Legacy of the First Blade is different. Below I’ll explain how, as well as where you need to go to first start the DLC.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Where to Start Legacy of the First Blade
Unlike previous games, you won’t be transferred off-map. In fact, the first thing you need to do is sail to Makedonia, an island at the very top of the map. The moment you step foot on Makedonia, whichever sibling you play as will make a comment on some differences. This will inevitably lead to a cutscene, which is where things first start to get interesting. The quest called ‘The Horsemen Cometh’ will also trigger.
However, there are a few things you’ll need to do before you can gain access to this quest. First off, you’ll need to complete all of chapter 7’s events relating to the island of Naxos. By the time you’ve finished Naxos, you should (at the very least) be level 29. If not, you’ll still be unable to trigger the event to the DLC quest, so keep grinding.
Once that’s done, read the first step mentioned. The DLC questline will trigger and you can finally play.
