The Tales of Series has been around since the days of Tales of Phantasia back in 1995, and while the series was originally developed by Wolf Team, it has since grown bigger and bigger under the publishing giant, Bandai Namco. However, now 2018, it doesn’t look like the Tales of franchise will be going anywhere, as Tales of Crestoria, a brand new Tales title, has just been announced on Bandai Namco’s YouTube account.
While not much is known about this new Tales game, the teaser that was shown does look intense and it also allowed us to find out something else: Tales of Crestoria will solely be a mobile game.
This may be particularly disheartening to some fans, especially as Tales Of mobile games have a terrible habit of ending up canceled later on. Tales of Link and Tales of Asteria, both games that were developed for mobile, are just further proof of that.
Nevertheless, there were some great looking moments in the trailer and the official Twitter account has indicated that there will be more things to come for those who want to know more about the title on the 13th of September. Another thing that the Tales of Crestoria Twitter mentioned was that there would be sign-up orders available through the use of LINE, a popular messaging app in Japan.
One worry that we can put to bed, however, is that this isn’t the Mothership title that Bandai Namco confirmed they were working on during the Tales of Festival this year. This will ease some worries, but it won’t change the fact that fans were expecting more news about this title, rather than yet another mobile game that they aren’t certain won’t just lose support a year later.
A release date has not been received, nor has a Western release date been given. Whether the West will receive this Tales of game has yet to be confirmed.
