After Battlefield 5’s release date was delayed to November, DICE expanded their “Road to Battlefield 5” promotional campaign. The campaign has already seen Battlefield 1 DLC become available for free on two separate occasions. Now, it will all be available for free again as part of two separate giveaways in October. Following that, Battlefield 1 itself will get a hefty reduction in price.
Battlefield 1 DLC Giveaways in October
“If you’ve strayed from the road,” says DICE; “or have yet to explore the bountiful trail, no worries, because the next stage of giveaways is the biggest of them all!”
In fact, the first of the three October giveways as part of the Road to Battlefield 5 begins today. It will end on the 16th of October. Between now and then, two of the Battlefield 1 DLC expansions are available for free; They Shall Not Pass, and In the Name of the Tsar. When this event comes to an end, a second giveaway will run from the 17th to the 23rd. During that period, the Turning Tides and Apocalypse expansions will be available for free. Finally, the third giveaway will run from the 24th to the 31st of October. During this time, the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass, including all four DLC releases, will be free. Moreover, Battlefield 1 itself will go on sale for just $4.99.
Alongside the three giveaways, DICE is incentivising players to return to Battlefield 1 with weekly rewards. Each day the game will feature new daily tasks. Completing them will earn players equipment and weapon skins, Squad XP boosts, and Dog Tags. In fact, players can even earn skins for Battlefield 5 ahead of the game’s release. These rewards change over every week. Included in the weekly rewards are two Battlefield 5 Soldier Tokens. These can be redeemed in Battlefield 5 to unlock two of the eight Special Soldier Sets; extra customisation options for British Special Air Service and German Airborne troops. Players can get one token from pre-ordering the game, and the remaining five for pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition.
