The Battlefield 5 Attrition System is one of the biggest structural changes coming to the Battlefield franchise in this latest entry. DICE hopes for the system to encourage more dynamic play by forcing players to regularly replenish their supplies of ammunition and health. As a new system, DICE recently published a list of tips from the developers to help beginners get to grips with it. However, there are a lot of more complex changes. As such, DICE includes a handful of tips to help more experienced players adapt to the new system more easily.
DICE’s Pro Tips for the Battlefield 5 Attrition System
“Even if you’re a veteran Battlefield player,” explains DICE; “there are tips to help keep you dominating in Battlefield V. If you just want to wander off to improve your K/D Ratio, that’s still possible, but make PTFO your mantra and lean in to the fresh tactical approaches.”

Obviously, the Battlefield 5 Attrition System will change the way that players have played in previous Battlefield titles. More static strategies may no longer be viable, as players more frequently run low on ammo and have to move to find more. More emphasis is also placed on the Medic and Support classes, who can keep their teammates stocked up. Of course, there are other ways to get fresh supplies; “If you’re playing on larger maps with greater distance between flags,” says DICE; “don’t forget to call in the Supply Cannister Drop, if you have the points for this Reinforcement. These replenish both health and ammo and will benefit both you and your team.”
The Battlefield 5 Attrition System isn’t restricted to infantry, either. It affects vehicles as well. Luckily, there are ways to keep a vehicle’s ammunition replenished as well; “Playing a vehicle?” continues DICE; “Remember that Resupply Stations also will heal your vehicle. If you’re in an airplane, make use of the Attrition mechanics by destroying enemy Resupply Stations, then fly through skyhooks to give your kite some love in the form of ammo and repairs.”
