Battlefield 5’s firearms might be the most talked about weapons in the game. However, that doesn’t mean that they’re the only weapons. Battlefield 5 is scheduled to release in less than two months’ time, and DICE has now released a full list of weapons, vehicles, and gadgets which will feature in the game at launch. Included on that list were 9 different Battlefield 5 melee weapons, and 5 stationary or towable heavy weapons.
All Battlefield 5 Melee Weapons Featuring at Launch
“When ammo needs to be saved,” says DICE; “or a loud encounter would be fatal, you need alternatives. Go for the melee win with finessed weapons or blunt, improvised instruments – you’ll grab your enemy’s Dog Tag if you succeed.”
Melee weapons played a major role in Battlefield 1, with cavalry sabres, bayonets, and entrenching tools all playing a prominent part. Although cavalry are no more, melee weapons remain commonplace, and still play a valuable role in a player’s arsenal. There will be 9 different Battlefield 5 melee weapons included in the game at launch, though DICE will doubtless add more in post-launch releases. The full list is as follows:
- British Army Jack Knife
- Club
- Cricket Bat
- Hatchet
- Kukri
- Pickaxe
- Scout Knife
- Shovel
- Solveig Knife
All Battlefield 5 Stationary and/or Towable Weapons Featuring at Launch
While melee weapons may be quieter, and best for one-on-one engagements at very close range, stationary and/or towable weapons are almost the precise opposite. These weapons are either too huge and heavy to move, or else can only be moved by being towed by a vehicle. They range from artillery pieces to anti-air guns to heavy machine guns; “The battlefield may shape you,” says DICE; “but you can bally well shape the battlefield too. Tow an anti-tank gun to a key area of the map or man an AA Gun to bring cocky pilots down to earth.”
