Battlefield 5 Squad Conquest is Now Available for Two More Weeks

The Battlefield 5 Squad Conquest game mode was introduced two weeks ago at the start of Lightning Strikes; the second chapter of Battlefield 5’s Tides of War post-launch schedule. The mode was set to be removed from the game, but DICE has now announced that Battlefield 5 Squad Conquest will be available for a further two weeks.

Battlefield 5 Squad Conquest Will be Available for an Extra Two Weeks

Battlefield 5 Squad Conquest is one of three new game modes featuring in Lightning Strikes, along with Rush and Combined Arms. The latter mode is the only permanent addition, however, with Rush and Squad Conquest available for two weeks only; each one ties to one of Lightning Strikes’ five Chapter Events. DICE has said that this limited time availability is meant to gauge player interest in the two modes. If players enjoy them, then they could return in the future. As it turns out, Squad Conquest seems to have been extremely well-received; so much so that DICE is keeping it in the game for two extra weeks!

Battlefield 5 Squad Conquest Will Stay for Two More Weeks

The announcement was made by Jeff Braddock, the North American Community Manager for Battlefield, on the game’s official forum“Over the course of the last two weeks,” he explains; “we received a lot of feedback from the community regarding Squad Conquest, with requests to keep it around for a while. Well, we heard you and we’re excited to announce that we’ve extended Squad Conquest availability for TWO MORE WEEKS!”

Squad Conquest is effectively a miniature version of the classic Conquest game mode. In it, two teams of eight players (just two Squads each) compete for control of three objectives. Because there are far fewer players, the game mode takes place on three specially condensed versions of existing maps; Arras, Hamada, and Rotterdam. Combined Arms, the next game mode coming in Lightning Strikes, should be launching in the next few weeks. As a major content update, fans may well get to see a new trailer or perhaps gameplay preview ahead of the release.
