Battlefield 5 War in the Pacific is due to launch tomorrow, and while DICE had previously outlined what would be coming in the game’s fifth Chapter, they hadn’t confirmed what exactly would be available at launch. Now, fans have an answer to that question, thanks to the Chapter’s Patch Notes. For instance, we now know that four four of the new weapons will be available at launch.
The Battlefield 5 War in the Pacific Launch Content
The Battlefield 5 War in the Pacific Chapter is bringing more new content than ever before to the game, with new factions, new maps, new weapons, new vehicles, and more. When it comes to maps, DICE has already confirmed that Pacific Storm and Iwo Jima will be available at launch. Wake Island will be coming in December. However, we now know that only the M1 Garand, Type 99 Arisaka, Type 100, and M1919A6 will be available at launch. The other new weapons, the Jungle Carbine, Type 94, and Model 27, will become available during the course of the chapter as Chapter Rewards. Note that the Katana and M2 Flamethrower are Battle Pickups rather than standard weapons, and will also be available at launch.
When it comes to vehicles, the M4 Sherman, Type 97, LVT, Ka-Mi, Dinghy, LCPV, MB Keep, and Type 95 will all be available at launch. Additionally, players can look forward to both new planes, the F4U Corsair and Zero, also being available at launch. The Sherman Calliope and HaChi rocket barrage tanks are only available as Reinforcements, but will also feature as launch. As such, it seems that no vehicles are being held back until later in the Chapter.
So, when it comes to new content coming post-launch for War in the Pacific, it seems that fans can expect 3 weapons, a map, and 2 new Elites. (Not to mention new cosmetic items for the US and Japan which likely have yet to be announced.) Additionally, it’s possible that DICE has yet to announce other new weapons or pieces of content planned to arrive in the next few months as weekly challenge rewards, etc.
