Battlefield 5 War Stories Trailer and Gameplay Coming Next Week

Fans of Battlefield 5 have something to look forward to next week according to Eric Holmes, the Design Director for Battlefield 5 War Stories. A 30-second video of the Design Director was recently posted to Reddit by DICE, teasing news, gameplay footage, and a new trailer coming next week for Battlefield 5’s single-player mode.

Gameplay and a Trailer Coming Next Week for Battlefield 5 War Stories

“Next week’s a big week,” says Holmes; “we’re going to have a bunch of blog posts, … we’re going to have gameplay for you guys to see … But best of all, we’re going to have a trailer and it is awesome!”

There are Three War Stories Featuring at Launch

So far, DICE has shown plenty of gameplay of Battlefield 5’s core multiplayer modes. Certainly, many fans have had a chance to play these modes for themselves; either during the two Closed Alphas or the Open Beta. However, the studio has been far quieter about the game’s War Stories; the single-player story format which was first part of Battlefield 1. For the last few weeks, DICE has been posting some very in-depth blog posts. These range from full lists of every weapon, vehicle, etc. which will feature at launch, to explanations of the new specialisation system for vehicles and weapons. If the studio is planning posts on the subject of War Stories, fan can likely expect a lot of new information.

Thus far, only a few momentary glimpses of War Stories cut-scenes have been shown so far. What we do know at present is that there will be four large War Stories missions, delving into some of the “untold tales of WWII”. Nordlys, Under No Flag, and Tirailleur will feature in the game at launch, while The Last Tiger will come post-launch. The first mission will be cast players as a Norwegian resistance fighter. The second will see players as a British criminal recruited to fight in Africa. The third will tell the story of Senegalese soldiers fighting in the French army. The fourth and final War Story will be the first ever told from a German perspective; set during the final months of the war.
