Battlefield V received a new trailer and gameplay footage yesterday during EA PLAY, making fans impatient for its upcoming release. The game looks and feels different and that’s because some basic Battlefield V features are totally different than what we were used to in past titles. DICE explains why this change had to happen.
One of the big changes in Battlefield V features is the absence of random bullet deviation which was a big pain for many players that wanted control over their damage output. As senior producer Lars Gustavsson this change has been made to let players understand your weapons and how you can get better at using them. Talking to Variety, Gustavsson pointed out:
“It was hard for people to read [the guns]. And as such, we wanted to purify it. If you have a gun system that’s easy to read, it also means that over time, you’ll learn to master it,” Gustavsson told Variety. “That’s what we want players to do. You should feel that you get better over time. There will always be new challenges on this dynamic battlefield.”
Additionally, a lot is changing to Battlefield V regarding animated actions like reviving and replenishing ammo and health. As DICE revealed, they want the game to feel as realistic as possible and that means taking some time to do several actions:
“If there are things you can do in real life, we want to mimic that and give you those tools in the game as well. … All of these things allow you to adapt in a given situation. It’s all about empowering the player, to act and react in a situation rather than us restricting them,”

If you’ve been keeping up with the Battlefield V news since yesterday, you must have seen the insane gameplay footage posted on Youtube. Watching the game in action, gives you a sense of how the franchise has grown, being more tactic than pure gunfight, differing itself from other major FPS titles.
