EA Play wasn’t the only showcase for Battlefield V. Last night at Microsoft’s E3 2018 conference, Battlefield V Nordlys War Story received its first trailer, which was powerful and emotional at the same time.
As the trailer revealed, Battlefield V Nordlys War Story is the story of a young Norwegian Resistance fighter during the German occupation. DICE teased the story a few weeks back, stating that Nordly’s story is not about a soldier fighting for her country, but also her family, which is also shown on screen at the beginning:
Remember when fans weren’t too thrilled about women being soldiers in Battlefield V? Yeah, right. This story proves otherwise. DICE states:
“First, let me be clear about one thing. Player choice and female playable characters are here to stay. We want ‘Battlefield V’ to represent all those who were a part of the greatest drama in human history, and [to] give players [the] choice to choose and customize the characters they play with.”
A powerful tale like the Battlefield V Nordlys War Story is exactly what the franchise needs right now, as its most active competition, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 doesn’t include a single player campaign this year. This gives DICE the opportunity to create a whole system of different stories around Battlefield V, to create a huge experience for “casual” gamers too.
As DICE revealed last week, the Tides of War service will bring frequent new content to the title, totally free for all owners. This means that you’ll be getting more war stories after the game’s release.
One more interesting fact about Battlefield V is that it is available on release day through Electronic Arts’ new subscription service Origin Access Premier. Through this service, you’ll be able to play new titles like Battlefield V, FIFA 19 and Anthem with $14.99 a month, a small price to pay for such big titles.
