Battlefield V’s closed Alpha may have concluded, but worry not. The next testing phase, the Battlefield V open beta will take place in September according to DICE, available for all players across all platforms.
Regardless of whether you got the chance to try out Battlefield V during its closed alpha or not, you can wait until September to have your own testing trial with the upcoming game, with no pre-order restrictions or gimmicks. This won’t be the straight next time we’ll see Battlefield V though, as the company revealed that they’re bringing a new build to Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.
Additionally, we expect Battlefield V to get a closed beta before it goes public for the whole community. DICE has revealed that they indeed had some issues with the matchmaking system and improvements will be done between now and launch, as well as tweaks and rebalances for weapons and several aspects of the game like its revival system.
What should we expect from the Battlefield V Open Beta though? Another map, in addition to Narvik would be the first thing to secure for the testing phase, since players were already complaining that this map was crowded and small compared to what they were used to in previous titles of the franchise.
The big question lies as to if we’ll be able to test the announced battle royale mode during the Battlefield V open beta. DICE and Activision have been suspiciously quiet about this project, keeping us hanging to know more. Since Call of Duty: Black Op 4 will hold a beta for their battle royale mode too, DICE might be following the same pattern as doing it in August seems reasonably difficult.
There’s still no stated date for the Battlefield V open beta, other than it will take place in September. We expect Activision and DICE to reveal more information about its testing period and content over the next month.
