Best Black Friday Game Deals – Borderlands 3
The first title on our list is Borderlands 3. Despite only being a couple of months old, you can get your hands on Borderlands 3 at a discount this Black Friday. Gearbox recently announced their own developer sale, with a 33% discount on the game. This applies to all three versions of the game, including the Deluxe and Super Deluxe editions. It’s rare for a game to have such a steep discount this close to its own launch. With the game’s recent new content releases combined with this discount, plenty of gamers are likely to be enticed to pick up Borderlands 3 this week.
Best Black Friday Game Deals – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is an even more recent release than Borderlands 3, but even so, Activision is offering a 20% Black Friday sale discount on the game. This sale discount extends to most major retailers. For example, Walmart is offering the game for $38.00 (down from $59.99). There are also several console bundle deals available from various retailers. The 20% discount may not be as large as that offered by Gearbox on Borderlands 3, but are still likely to be higher than any other sale discounts on the game this close to launch.
Best Black Friday Game Deals – Control
Remedy Entertainment’s latest game, Control may have been overshadowed by other triple-A releases in the last two months, with the release of Borderlands 3, Modern Warfare, and so on, but the game received critical acclaim. In fact, it’s nominated for Game of the Year at this year’s Game Awards. If you haven’t checked out Control, now’s an ideal time to do so, as you can get the game for just $29.88 at Amazon; a sale discount of 50%!
Best Black Friday Game Deals – Death Stranding
Perhaps the most significant Black Friday game deal for Death Stranding isn’t a discount on the game itself. Rather, it’s a console bundle which combines a custom Death Stranding -themed PS4 Pro 1TB and controller with the game. This bundle is available from PlayStation Direct for $299.99, $100 cheaper than normal. The bundle will be available until the 3rd of December. Having only just launched this month, Death Stranding sale discounts generally arent being offered elsewhere.
Best Black Friday Game Deals – Gears 5
Gears 5 may have only launched recently, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a discount on it this Black Friday. As a successful and recent release, the game is being used to promote console sales via console bundles. Specifically, gamers looking to pick up a Gears-themed Xbox One X can get one bundled with Gears 5 for $349.99. This deal is available at both Target and Walmart, although Target does throw in a $40 gift card. However, the game is actually available on its own with a very significant discount from Best Buy; the retailer is offering Gears 5 for just $24.99, $35 down from its regular price.
Best Black Friday Game Deals – Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Another new November release, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order does, nonetheless, have a few Black Friday discounts. However, much like Death Stranding, these are generally in the form of console bundles, using the successful new release to promote console sales. The best of these is available from Best Buy, although similar deals are available from other retailers; a console bundle which combines an Xbox One X with the game’s Deluxe Edition, along with 3 months of Xbox Live Gold. This bundle is available for $349.99, £150 cheaper than normal. If you want a cheaper option, there is also a bundle which combines the Xbox One S and the standard edition of Fallen Order for $199.99. (A $100 sale discount.)
Best Black Friday Game Deals – PlayStation Hits (God of War, The Last of Us, etc.)
While this list focuses mainly on the latest big releases, an honourable mention is worth including for Sony’s PlayStation Hits offers. Available via PlayStation Direct, Sony is offering Black Friday discounts on many of their top exclusives. This includes titles like God of War, The Last of Us Remastered, and Horizon Zero Dawn. In fact, you can get all three of those exact titles in a new PS4 1TB bundle for $199.99 ($100 off). You can also get the individual games themselves, each for 50% off.
The PlayStation Hits catalogue includes God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition, Gran Turismo Sport, Bloodborne, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, The Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, God of War 3 Remastered, LittleBigPlanet 3, and Ratchet & Clank.
