In the most recent update for Fallout 76, Bethesda added a new machine called the Legendary Exchange Machine. These can be found at any of the train stations in Appalachia, and allow players to exchange any Legendary items they don’t need for ‘Legendary Scrip’; a new in-game currency. This currency is useless right now, but will be vital very soon, when the Fallout 76 Purveyor sets up shop in Appalachia.
How the Fallout 76 Purveyor Will Work
The Fallout 76 Purveyor merchant was initially meant to arrive in the game on the 23rd of May. However, that date has now been moved up; she will instead be arriving in just a couple of days, on the 16th! This unique Mole Miner merchant will be a new and invaluable vendor for high-level players. Especially for those who have been longing for more high-tier equipment; “The Purveyor is no ordinary vendor,” explains Bethesda, in their most recent Inside the Vault post; “She only deals in legendary items, and only accepts a unique currency, called Legendary Scrip, as payment.”
Thus, in order to trade with the Purveyor, players will need to exchange any legendary items they don’t need for Scrip at the new machines. After doing so, players can head for the Berkeley Springs Train Station. This location, which is currently abandoned, will be the site of the Purveyor’s shop. “The Purveyor has a vast collection of legendary items at her disposal,” says Bethesda; “and will allow you to choose whether you’d like to buy armour, melee weapons, or ranged weapons. You will also be able to pick whether your item will have one, two, or three legendary attributes.
“However,” continues the studio; “she doesn’t allow buyers to haggle over the exact details of an item and instead will select its legendary attributes at the time of purchase. This means that while you will always receive an item that fits the type and star-rating you’ve selected, its attributes will be decided at random.” The Purveyor will arrive in a few days, giving players ample to get their hands on some Legendary Scrip. After that, she’s likely to become a key feature for higher-tier players.
