Player Begs Bethesda to End Their Immortality in Fallout 76

Since the release of Fallout 76, players have come across all manner of bugs, ranging from the simply bizarre to the truly game-breaking. Another Fallout 76 bug which falls decidedly into the latter camp has is now afflicting at least one player; someone who is begging Bethesda to fix their game. Essentially, the player’s character has become completely immortal.

Fallout 76 Bug Grants an Unfortunate Player Immortality

The unfortunate player, who goes by “Brogadyn,” explained their situation on the Fallout 76 SubReddit. According to Brogadyn, the bug took effect once they reached around level 40 in the game. Now, their character simply cannot die. In a rather existential plea, Brogadyn is now desperately trying to get Bethesda to kill them; “My character is unkillable, and I mean… really unkillable. She can even eat a nuke blast to the face and be fine. There is literally zero ways that she can die even if I wanted her to (which I very much do at this point).”

Fallout 76 Bug Turns Player Immortal

Apparently, Brogadyn has had a support ticket with Bethesda’s customer support since last Friday. However, they have apparently received only standard emails offering no specific help. Unfortunately, with their player stuck in immortality, large parts of the game are basically inaccessible; “There is a lot of things that are restricted to me right now,” they continue; “such as mutation farming because I cannot cure anything, I am considered at 0hp.”

Because Brogadyn doesn’t want to unfairly take advantage of their immortality in PvP, or have it ruin their story immersion, they are essentially waiting in limbo. Brogadyn doesn’t reveal exactly what caused their immortality, but they do say; “It was a bug that suddenly appeared, but I feel I would be able to reproduce the state again given the circumstances it happened”; suggesting that something specific was the trigger. In general, Bethesda has been fast at responding to major bugs, but with so many players uncovering problems, the studio may be struggling to keep up with individual cases. Hopefully, Brogadyn will know the sweet release of death soon enough.
