Bethesda has been cheering behind the Nintendo Switch since its very successful launch early last year. With titles such as Skyrim, Doom, Fallout Shelter, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Bethesda obviously has high hopes that their games will and have succeeded on Nintendo’s hybrid console. It’s pretty rare to find such a plethora of mature games on a Nintendo console, but it seems that Bethesda is changing that with their support of Nintendo.
During Gamelab in Barcelona, Gamereactor spoke with Todd Howard, director and executive producer at Bethesda, about the potential for games such as Fallout 4 to come to the Nintendo Switch, future Bethesda games, and their experience working with Nintendo. Todd Howard’s response is as follows:
“Well there’s definitely interest, it’s not something that we are exploring right now. We think Switch is a great platform – it was the first time we really worked closely with Nintendo on Skyrim – and really, really great experience and we’ll certainly be doing more things there in the future, but right now it’s not a mainline Fallout 4.”
It’s very nice to hear that Bethesda had such a great experience with working alongside Nintendo on their multiple Switch ports. Even though it’s unfortunate that we won’t be getting Fallout 4 on the Switch anytime soon, it’s still awesome that we will be getting even more Bethesda titles on the hybrid console.
Fallout 4 originally released on Nov 10, 2015, and is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
