Just as the studio did prior to the launch of the Fallout 76 BETA, Bethesda has released an open letter to fans ahead of the upcoming Fallout 76 launch. Where the former letter took a hopeful tone while warning players to expect “spectacular” bugs, this new letter is decidedly more positive throughout. The studio takes the chance to thank both developers and fans alike.

Bethesda’s Letter to Fans Prior to the Fallout 76 Launch
“It’s with great excitement that we’re finally launching Fallout 76,” reads the letter; “A Fallout game unlike anything we’ve ever done. Really, it’s a game unlike any we’ve ever played.”
Fallout 76 is due to release on the 14th of November, in just a few days’ time. Although the results of the BETA can best be described as mixed, the event undoubtedly served its purpose; unearthing bugs and problems ahead of the full release. As a result, Bethesda has already released a huge 30 GB patch which went out during the course of the BETA. A second patch will also be released at launch. Unfortunately, this does mean that there will be a day one patch for Fallout 76 which is actually larger than the game itself! While this is certainly less than ideal, it is evidence that Bethesda is taking a proactive stance when it comes to addressing problems and bugs found by players.
“A huge thanks to everyone at Bethesda and ZeniMax who supported us in making this game,” continues the letter; “Creating a new style of game has taken the best from not just our own producers, programmers, artists, and designers – but great efforts from across the company. Special thanks to our friends at ZeniMax Online, id, and Arkane who helped us”; it’s no great surprise to hear the names of some of these studios. ZeniMax Online Studios, in particular, is the studio responsible for The Elder Scrolls: Online; quite likely Bethesda’s most successful online game.
The letter continues to thank the fans as well; “And a special thank you to all our fans who participated in the BETA,” it reads; “with your help we’ve made the game better each week. And this is just the beginning. We have an incredible list of updates we’ve begun to work on, from CAMP building improvements, new quests and events, new Vaults opening, character respecing, a faction-based PvP system, and much more.”
